Empowerment Beyond Compliance
At Kichose, we believe empowerment goes beyond the indices set in South Africa’s Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment legislation.
Being a 100% Black-owned and 80% female-owned Level 1 contributor, our credentials in that regard are beyond reproach. We take the view that all our employees ought to be empowered, not only to ensure optimal performance but to mitigate any continuity-related risk.

Based on our policy, we have established diverse
ways of empowerment as follows.
1. Skill Development
Although we deliberately hire a skilled workforce, we believe in continuous improvement.
Our employees are sent on regular training to sharpen their skills and keep up with global trends in their respective roles. We also ensure they are trained beyond this in soft skills and skills that capacitate them for responsibility.
2. Succession Planning
Each role has a clearly defined career path with a clear succession plan that informs training requirements and ensures we have a replacement path in case of any eventuality.
This ensures that quality of service is never at risk for our customers.
3. Capacitation
Policy regarding management style dictates that all our employees are capacitated and empowered to make decisions in their roles.
There is a strong culture of accountability that ensures they are aware their power to make decisions comes with the burden of responsibility. We ensure they participate in all goal-setting, planning, and policy-making processes as appropriate, with impeccable clarity of purpose regarding their roles as they relate to our company’s mission and specific goals.
4. Employee Ownership
As standing policy, a portion of each of our entities is owned by the respective employees that work in it.
This ensures everyone has skin in the game and is fully vested in securing positive outcomes at all times.
